Blake's poetry meets the "Overview Effect" "Blake and Me and the Universe" pulls the audience to a new vantage point, into another world, brushing against conventional perception. Far beyond the imagined radius and cosmos for which humanity considers itself the center and clings to destructively. How vast this universe is and how small we egocentric beings are on our planet. The protagonists on stage appear like castaways after a trip to the future or the past. Refuge, aimless landing? Like lemurs they move, stretch and dance through a surreal setting that seems toxic. The text by David Schein (USA) uses William Blake's poems in their fundamental connection to nature and social criticism as a blueprint, as in Schein's own poem: "Good Night Our story`s done Same old song about Armageddon Cycles of Seasons of change Fire next time and the punishing rain But you know false prophets before us predicted The days of our numbers are done Go stand on the hillside and sing with the chorus and Beat that drum."
